.  Unchanged for aeons, now irreconcilable.

.                                                   Drifting,

.                                                    descending.

.  Returning, opening eyes, the blackness withdraws.
.  My mind settles with a somber acceptance.

.  A                    of longing unvoluntarily drawn from the corner of my lips.

.  A sullen understanding that I will never know such serenity again.
